1. Can we swap any propane tank? Regardless of labels?
Absolutely. We re-brand any returned tanks and get them back out there. It makes no difference what brand. Within 12 years. If older than 12 years, we re certify them simply for a $5.00 surcharge.
2. Will The Propane Guys take a rusted out tank for swap?
We can take an old rusty one and charge the $5.00 “recert” fee when accompanied by a paid delivery for you of at least one tank. Likelihood is we would then recycle it instead but that’s on us.
3. Do they deliver in the Valley?
No
4. I’ve heard you guys make money by reducing the amount of the fill in the new tank. Is that true?
That is actually one of the reasons we started this business. We deliver TRULY full tanks (18 lbs net) vs. the label on the others at 15 lbs. (20% less). It’s advantageous for us to provide the customer with a truly FULL tank. Don’t believe it? Read your “full” retail tank stamped at 15lbs.

5. So how exactly does this business model make money?
As far as how we make money – it is simply this: We cut out the retailer/middle man. The folks at the retail stores want their cut too, but remember, a company, commercial driver, with Hazmat, still has to deliver to them too. Guess what – we just deliver to you, with licensed commercial drives, with hazmat, and training. It’s wholesale direct, simply with a basic product that most of us use all the time.
6. Have we really gotten this lazy that we need a propane delivery service?
It’s not like getting propane from the gas station is at all considered “hard work” to where laziness is a factor to compare to. Getting propane for a camper or a bbq at a gas station is just annoying. Dealing with attendants, rolling tanks around etc etc. these guys will take care of the nuisance of getting propane for you- free up your time. My parents told me to work smarter, not harder and the Propane Guys is working smarter!
